Exploring Student-Run Projects at Contra Costa School of Performing Arts

The Contra Costa School of Performing Arts is a free, public school authorized by the Contra Costa County Office of Education. It offers a variety of courses and extracurricular activities for students to explore their interests and develop their skills. Each year, students at the school have the opportunity to participate in a range of student-run projects, supervised by teachers and mentors. These projects are designed to give students hands-on experience in their chosen field of study. The Contra Costa School of Performing Arts offers courses in physical sciences, life sciences, and Earth sciences, all based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

In eighth grade, students focus on physical sciences; seventh grade focuses on life sciences; and sixth grade focuses on Earth sciences. Through these courses, students gain an understanding of the scientific principles that govern our world. In addition to the courses offered at the school, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of student-run projects. These projects range from designing and building robots to creating and launching rockets. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and field trips.

Through these projects, students gain valuable experience and develop leadership skills. The Contra Costa School of Performing Arts also offers a variety of extracurricular activities for students to participate in. These activities include sports teams, clubs, and other activities that allow students to explore their interests outside of the classroom. These activities provide students with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, build relationships, and gain valuable experience. At the Contra Costa School of Performing Arts, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of student-run projects each year.
